About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Quant Analyst to join a leading energy trading company in London, driving decision-making in European gas markets. Collaborate with traders and risk managers to develop and implement models that optimise profitability across European gas markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain complex statistical models to support gas trading strategies, including price forecasting, risk management, and market analysis.
  • Analyse historical and real-time market data to identify trading opportunities and enhance portfolio performance.
  • Work closely with gas traders and risk managers to adjust strategies based on market dynamics and pricing trends.
  • Apply machine learning techniques and time-series analysis to refine gas price prediction models.
  • Conduct thorough back-testing, model validation, and performance analysis to ensure robust model accuracy.
  • Stay informed on European gas market fundamentals, regulations, and geopolitical factors impacting market behaviour.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to integrate models into trading systems and platforms seamlessly.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience in quantitative modelling, with a focus on energy trading, preferably in gas markets.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with data visualisation tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of European gas market fundamentals, supply-demand dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with trading systems and real-time data platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced trading environment.


We offer a competitive salary range of £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
