About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at Circle Health Group. As a Clinical Coding Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of clinical coding data, supporting the business by providing timely and accurate translation and input of medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the provision of a high-quality clinical coding team, supporting the business by ensuring accurate and timely translation and input of medical terminology.
  • Support validation and data quality improvement work, acting as a mentor and supporting trainee clinical coders and dealing with complex coding queries when required.
  • Work collaboratively with the coding team to monitor and improve coding standards and conventions, ensuring compliance with national clinical coding standards.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in the use of ICD10 and OPCS4 classifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical coding experience at NHS Foundation level, ideally ACC but not a necessity.
  • Full understanding of ICD10, OPCS, and the impact of HRGs.
  • Detailed knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and coding procedures.
  • NCCQ required but not a necessity if at least 3 years experience coding a range of specialities in the NHS.
