Job Title: Health and Safety Practitioner

Location: Rotherham, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Estimated Salary: £21.52 - £26.92 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Practitioner to join our team at CV-Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and best practices in Health and Safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver professional and competent advice on Health and Safety matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training aligned with national legislation and best practices.
  3. Support the implementation of control measures to mitigate risks.
Risk Management Strategies:
  1. Identify occupational risks and activities requiring assessments in collaboration with senior officers.
Contractor Competence Evaluation:
  1. Develop systems to ensure contractors' competencies are routinely assessed and monitored.
Training and Development Programs:
  1. Conduct training needs analyses and implement prioritized training programs for stakeholders.
  2. Design, coordinate, and deliver technical Health and Safety training, including bespoke and accredited courses.
  3. Update training materials in line with legislation and organizational needs.
Specialized Focus Areas:
  1. Lead initiatives in specialized areas such as Fire Safety, Asbestos Management, HAVS, and Training & Development.
Performance and Quality Assurance Metrics:
  1. Monitor compliance through performance management frameworks.
  2. Compile and report performance statistics to drive continuous improvement.
Project Management and Strategic Planning:
  1. Lead projects from initiation to completion, including audits, inspections, and new initiatives to enhance safety management systems.
Person Specifications:

Educational Requirements:
- NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health).
Desirable Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificates in Occupational Health, Fire Safety, or Construction Health and Safety.
- Training qualifications such as AET, PTLLS, or equivalent.
Work Experience and Knowledge:
- Proven track record in a Health and Safety advisory role in a complex, high-volume environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and performance standards.
- Proficiency in implementing and maintaining Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other digital tools for data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
- Effective project management and organizational skills.
