About the Role:
The Recruitment Co is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established Internationally recognised Manufacturer in the Nutritional Supplement Industry.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary of £29,789 per annum, plus 33 days holiday allowance (25+8) and full time working hours with rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety:
- Overall management responsibilities for Health & Safety in designated areas
- Ensure operators are working in a risk-free environment, wearing correct PPE and compliant with company H & S requirements
- Review risk assessments & SOP's to ensure they are up to date, user-friendly and contain correct information/settings
- Report & investigate incidents/accidents and follow up with a full report within 24 hours
- Quality/Technical:
- Actively promote a 'right first time' environment
- Ensure food safety is followed in the production of products
- Ensure area standards are set and maintained
- Ensure quality samples represent against final production requirement with sign off and double sign off from another team member
- Assist in NC/CAPA investigations as required
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly filled out in a timely manner and audit to ensure right first time
- Own responsibility of line clearance for manufacturing/packaging as per SOP372
- Staff Development:
- Coach staff and development of teams and review progress
- Identify training needed for self and team
- Continuous Improvement:
- Support and guide team to ensure improvements are delivered
- Identify potential areas of improvement by reviewing top 3 trends weekly with SM and identifying action plan to improve
- Effectively measure changeovers to identify improvements (circa 20%)
- Improve productivity trends by 10%
- Behaviours:

- Ensure correct procedures are followed to set up, operate and clean down machines to ensure efficient running of machines and minimal downtime
- Manage team members to ensure greatest output and efficiency is achieved
- Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices at all times
- Support colleagues to ensure team success/listen to your team
- Communications:
- Monitor and accurately complete shift reports (H&S issues, daily performance, scrap, breakdown, quality issue) and report to management
- Prepare and conduct comprehensive handover with oncoming shift to eliminate any unnecessary downtime between shifts
- Communicate shortage issues accurately and on time
- Deliver daily briefing to team
Requirements:
- Previous experience within similar role/Ideally manufacturing background
- Previous knowledge of Clean Room environments (desirable)
- Working in Food/Pharmaceutical industries for at least 2 years (desirable)
