Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to lead the development and delivery of a new project focused on improving the provision of psychological care to patients requiring cardiac rehabilitation in the West Yorkshire system. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in reducing health inequalities and developing services that cater to marginalized groups.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a collective systemic intervention to improve the provision of psychological care to patients with cardiac rehabilitation needs.
  • Work closely with leads from cardiac rehabilitation services to identify the psychological needs of patient groups and develop strong links with local talking therapies services.
  • Support the development of self-help resources and increase the knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation staff on screening and signposting individuals to the correct support services.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology.
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
  • Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance to support and maintain clinical practice.
  • Highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialized psychological therapies for specific difficult-to-treat groups.
