About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Practitioner/Plaster Technician to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our orthopaedic team, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality technical service to our patients, working closely with our surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a complete orthopaedic technical service to the Surgical and Anaesthetic Directorate, including plastering, casting, and other technical procedures.
  • Work effectively as a member of the clinic nursing team to ensure the provision of the highest standard of patient and customer care.
  • Assist in managing, maintaining, and supporting all clinics that run in the Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinic (Fracture Clinic), including planning staffing around clinic templates to ensure the smooth running of the clinics and plaster service for adult and children.
  • Help with Virtual Fracture Clinic and provide guidance to other service groups within the Trust.

Requirements

  • BOA (British Orthopaedic Association) Registered
  • RCN (Royal College of Nursing) qualified
  • AOT (Association of Orthopaedic Technicians) membership
  • Ponsetti Course completion
  • Experience of working with children 0-16 years old
  • Ponsetti experience
  • 2 years post-qualification experience in an outpatient orthopaedic setting
