Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Practitioner/Plaster Technician to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our orthopaedic team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive orthopaedic technical service to the Surgical and Anaesthetic Directorate, as well as guidance to other service groups within the Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a complete orthopaedic technical service to the Surgical and Anaesthetic Directorate, including assisting in planning staffing around clinic templates to ensure the smooth running of clinics and plaster service for adult and children.
  • Work effectively as a member of the clinic nursing team to ensure the provision of the highest standard of patient and customer care.
  • Assist in managing, maintaining, and supporting effectively all clinics that run in the Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinic (Fracture Clinic), including assisting in planning staffing around clinic templates.
  • Provide guidance to other service groups within the Trust on orthopaedic technical matters.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • BOA (British Orthopaedic Association Registered)
  • RCN (Royal College of Nursing)
  • AOT (Association of Orthopaedic Technicians)
  • Ponsetti Course

Desirable qualifications include a mentorship course and experience of working with children 0-16 years old, including Ponsetti experience and 2 years post-qualification in an outpatient orthopaedic setting.
