English Teacher Job Description

GSL Education is seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join their team in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

  • Salary: £120 - £180 per day (approximately)

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language and a passion for literature. They will be responsible for delivering English curriculum to students at various levels, focusing on developing both written and oral language skills.

About the Role:

  • Teach English to students at secondary level, fostering their understanding and appreciation of literature and language.
  • Engage students with a variety of texts, encouraging analytical and critical thinking.
  • Plan and execute lessons that effectively meet the learning objectives and needs of all students.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Able to assess student progress and provide feedback to promote improvement.
  • Experienced in preparing students for qualifications and assessments in line with national curriculum standards.
  • Collaborate with other English department members to develop teaching materials and participate in departmental initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English.
  • Experience in teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
