EMC Test Engineer Job Description

Element Materials Technology is seeking a highly skilled EMC Test Engineer to join our team in Surrey Hills, Guildford. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for conducting compliance testing on a wide range of products, including radio devices such as 802.11 abgn, BT, and Cellular radios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests, including setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing testing to applicable standards or test plans, and accurately documenting the testing process and outcome.
  • Understand customer test plans and follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications.
  • Setup test equipment and follow written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation.
  • Accurately observe and record test progress and results, organizing and documenting data for each assigned project.
  • Interact with customers during the testing process, assisting with troubleshooting and development modifications as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics or equivalent electronics testing experience.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years working in Regulatory Compliance with specific in-depth experience in EMC Testing & Certification of Wireless Device Technologies.
  • Experience testing devices with wireless capabilities, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.
  • Knowledge of radio test standards for Europe.
  • Proven ability to use EMC test equipment, including EMI receivers, Anechoic Chambers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
