Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist SEMH school in Wakefield. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with children and young people who have complex additional needs within a specialist setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the educational and personal development of students with SEMH needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting positive behavior and well-being
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons and activities, adapting to meet the needs of students with complex needs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior management strategies
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
