We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a large SEN school in Wakefield. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex care needs, including Autism spectrum conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEN pupils and a strong understanding of their needs. You will be responsible for providing individualized support to pupils, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and general wellbeing
  • Assisting with care needs and following plans to ensure each child's needs are met
  • Establishing a warm and supportive relationship with pupils to promote their independence and personal development
  • Contributing to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience working with SEN pupils in an employed or voluntary setting
  • A recognized qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C

Requirements:

  • Driving license and access to your own car
  • Parking available on site
