We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Options Officer to join our team at Kings Lynn & West Borough Council. As a key member of our housing team, you will play a vital role in helping individuals and families access the housing support they need to prevent homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality housing advice and guidance to individuals and families in need
- Investigate and assess homelessness cases, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to address housing needs and homelessness
- Work closely with vulnerable individuals, including refugees, to provide tailored support
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery
- Experience in a housing or related setting, with a good understanding of welfare benefits and eligibility criteria
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to addressing complex issues
- Ability to work with vulnerable individuals, including those with complex needs
- Strong cultural awareness and language skills, particularly in relation to refugee communities
- Knowledge of equality issues and a commitment to promoting equality and diversity
