Senior Welding Engineering Specialist

The Senior Welding Engineering Specialist will be responsible for proposing, providing, managing, and delivering Welding Engineering solutions and support to ongoing and new projects within our Marine Engineering & Systems, Rosyth. This role requires a strong understanding of welding processes, national and international codes, and specifications required within a heavy engineering environment.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Welding Engineering or a relevant discipline, and be registered as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the UK Engineering Council.
This is a full-time role, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at our Rosyth Dockyard, Fife site.
Key Responsibilities- Provide practical support on the shop floor with ongoing work scopes and help ensure uninterrupted production.
- Qualify welding procedures, producing detailed records of all welding parameters.
- Mentor colleagues within the Welding Engineering Team.
- Ensure safe working practices and the working environment is in accordance with the Company Policy.
- Working knowledge of main welding processes typically used for structural and piping applications within heavy engineering environments.
- Familiarity with national and international codes and specifications required within a heavy engineering environment.
- Responsible Welding Co-Ordinator (RWC) accreditation.
- Demonstrable experience within a heavy engineering environment such as ship building, ship repair, Oil and Gas or Nuclear industries.
