Role Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Child Psychologist within the Community Paediatrics service. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, formulation, and intervention to children and young people.

About the Role

The role involves working closely with colleagues from various disciplines to develop informed care pathways, offering individual assessments, formulations, and brief interventions. You will have the opportunity to shape the role of psychology within the team and contribute to service development, audit, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing on from the formation of a new pathway for ASD, training, service development, audit, and service evaluation
  • Working alongside the Team Manager, Service Manager, and Clinical Director to develop informed care pathways
  • Offering individual assessment, formulation, and brief intervention to a wide range of children and young people
  • Linking up with other services and offering effective signposting to enhance the children's and young people's journey
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) accepted by the HCPC for professional registration
  • Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal post-qualification training or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning
  • Evidence of having worked as a clinical specialist under supervision in Children's Services
  • Experience of proposing and implementing service development projects within your own service area
  • Experience of supervising assistant and trainee psychologists
