About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Educational Assistant to work in a secondary school in Parkstone, Poole. This rewarding role is perfect for someone who cares about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students identified with additional educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the continuity and progress of individual students.
  • Work 1-2-1 or with small groups of students, supporting them in and outside the classroom as directed by the SENDCo.
  • Act as an Emotionally Available Adult for students when required.

Key Requirements:

  • Passion for, or experience of, working with children with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.
  • Understanding of how children learn and behave, with a commitment to supporting their development.
  • Serve as a positive role model in behaviour, control, and resilience.
  • A genuine interest in student welfare, particularly for those facing learning challenges.
  • Respect professional confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding protocols.
