Job Summary
The Scottish Borders Council is seeking a Support Assistant to join our team. As a Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the Cook in the kitchen and dining area.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out instructions from the Cook on a daily basis
- Set out dining room furniture where necessary
- Lay tables for pupils' lunch where necessary
- Ensure cleanliness of work area and dining area
- Take food temperature and enter it into the appropriate form when instructed
- Serve pupils quickly and efficiently
- Clear away and dispose of waste food
- Wash up all crockery, cutlery, and containers
- Clean and wash kitchen and dining room as per the daily/weekly cleaning programmed checklist
- Dispose of waste and rubbish in tied bags and place in the refuse area
- Perform any other duties as specified by the Cook
Requirements
- Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate / RIPHH Certificate or willingness to achieve within 6 months
