Job Description

This challenging role requires a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team based in Tipton. Working in a rotational shift environment, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation of all manufacturing plant, equipment, and facilities. Your primary focus will be on improving equipment reliability by increasing the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reducing the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

As an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer, you will possess a strong commitment to safety and teamwork, with the ability to work independently and prioritize workloads efficiently. You will be responsible for performing safe and professional repairs on all plant and equipment, developing and carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, and assisting visiting engineers and contractors.

You will also troubleshoot and resolve minor repairs to maintain production efficiency, use CMMS to log and track all maintenance activities, prioritize workloads to meet production requirements effectively, and assist in the relocation, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment.

Reporting root causes of breakdowns and equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager is also a key responsibility, as well as ensuring a safe, clean, and secure working environment in line with health and safety policies. Supporting production teams in achieving daily targets by reducing downtime is also essential to this role.
