Our core service, Harmeny School, comprises an education service, a care service, and support services, including therapies, finance, estates, catering, and domestic services.

Our practice framework, The Harmeny Way, describes the unique combination of therapeutic approaches used to guide our work and ensure consistent practice with children and young people placed with us.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Social Educator to join our Education Team on a fixed-term basis to work with children in the formal education setting, providing learning support, promoting engagement, and planning therapeutic experiences. The successful applicant will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work outwith term time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide learning support and promote engagement in the classroom and other learning environments
  • Plan and offer therapeutic experiences to individual children and small groups
  • Build relationships with parents, carers, and families
  • Work collaboratively with the residential cottages and other teams
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in education and care
  • Ability to work with children who have experienced trauma
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • Driving licence and willingness to use company vehicles
