Mental Health Specialist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified specialist to work with complex mental health problems and contribute to the development of psychologically informed approaches within the Trust's framework.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will possess good, qualified specialist knowledge of complex mental health problems and be aware of the risks to self and others.
As a Band 7/8a post holder, you will work autonomously within professional guidelines (HCPC, BPS) and the overall framework of the Trust's policies and procedures.
You will offer psychological assessment and therapy, holding a client caseload within the MHTR. This caseload will comprise individuals presenting with mental health complexities.
The post holder will provide supervision for Assistant Psychologists and demonstrate a keen interest in working with people with complex mental health needs and forensic histories as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Offer psychological assessment and therapy services to clients with complex mental health needs.
- Hold a client caseload within the MHTR, managing complex cases and providing effective interventions.
- Provide supervision to Assistant Psychologists, promoting their professional development and supporting their work within the Trust.
- Contribute to the development of psychologically informed approaches within the Trust's framework, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good, qualified specialist knowledge of complex mental health problems.
- Awareness of the risks to self and others, adhering to professional guidelines (HCPC, BPS).
- Ability to work autonomously within the Trust's policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
This is a full-time position, with a salary range estimated to be between £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
