SQL BI Developer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team in Bradford, within the Financial Services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-quality work within Systems Development to meet project deadlines and support business requirements.
  2. Ensure the completion of tasks that support the day-to-day operations of our GROUPS IT software.
  3. Contribute to the direction of Business Intelligence initiatives.
  4. Support the lead developer for small and large development projects.
  5. Develop resilient, high-performance database solutions that conform to our existing standards.
  6. Participate in project-based tasks focusing on the development stage, with support provided throughout the product life cycle.
  7. Experience in developing Business Intelligence solutions in a commercial setting is beneficial.
  8. Proficiency in using the SQL Server 2008 platform and tools, including Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server Management Studio.
  9. Experience in using SQL for data querying, programming, and creation of database objects as part of larger solutions.
  10. Desirable Skills:
    1. Experience in designing end-to-end data warehouse and BI solutions.
    2. Experience of using Analysis Services to develop OLAP cubes.
    3. Experience of using Excel for the manipulation and display of complex data.
    4. Experience of using Transact SQL (T-SQL).
    5. Experience of using analysis tools.
    6. Experience of using MDX queries to work with OLAP cube data.
    7. Industry/professional qualifications in a relevant subject, such as Microsoft Developer certifications, are not necessary but may be advantageous.
    8. Industry/professional qualifications in Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing are not necessary but may be advantageous.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification.
  • Experience in a commercial setting.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server 2008 and related tools.
