About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Physician in Respiratory and General Medicine to join our team at Darent Valley Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes. You will be responsible for managing a range of respiratory conditions, including COPD, bronchiectasis, and tuberculosis, and will have the opportunity to develop and implement new clinical pathways and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of respiratory conditions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new clinical pathways and services
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, including medical undergraduates, junior medical staff, and other clinical staff
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives
Person Specification
  • GMC Recognised Medical Degree (MBBS or Equivalent)
  • CCT in Respiratory and General Medicine or eligibility for CCT within 6 months of interview date
  • Ability to teach and support learning activities
  • Experience of collaborative clinical or laboratory research
  • Commitment to Continuing Medical Education
