About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Catastrophe Analyst to join our team at QBE Insurance Group. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing and mitigating catastrophe risk across three key portfolios.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain portfolio management tools and contribute to our resilience against catastrophic events.

  • Risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
  • Portfolio development and management.
  • Catastrophe risk modelling and assessment.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and mitigate catastrophe risk.
  • Develop and implement portfolio management strategies.
  • Provide industry expertise to contribute to planning and strategic issues.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in CAT modelling software (e.g., experience with other analytical tools such as SQL, R, Python is a plus).
  • Data science skills, including experience with data visualization and dashboard creation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to support enhanced reporting and insights is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of global insurance products across Property, Casualty, and Specialty lines, including Life and Cyber insurance.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and reporting standards relevant to CAT risk.

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
