Aviation Training Manager

CHC Helicopters is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager Crew Training (MCT) to join our team in the UK. As an MCT, you will be responsible for the provision of the CHC UK Flight Training program to support safe and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain a training system that meets the company's operational needs, prioritizing safety.
- Drive the implementation and adherence of CHC's harmonized flight operations standards and procedures.
- Ensure high standards of training and testing are maintained according to OM Part A, B, C, D, F, and G.
- Monitor and maintain flight crew training through regular observation and appraisal.
- Arrange training programs for efficient use of aircraft, simulators, training facilities, and training manpower.
- Set flight crew proficiency standards at the highest level, in close liaison with other MCTs and under supervision of the Head of Flight Training.
- Meet regulatory requirements for training, testing, and checking of flight crew.
- Maintain active dialogue with regulatory agencies to ensure acceptable standards and business continuity.
- Develop and maintain the worldwide harmonized Company OM Part D.
- Develop staff management capability through career development discussions and performance appraisals.
- Ensure activities within the training department are carried out according to established SMS principles.
- Oversee the coordination and implementation of QMS/LMS/EGS systems and associated pilot record management.
- Work closely with outside resources for training delivery.
- Maintain active dialogue with customers and relevant 3rd party providers to ensure acceptable standards and business continuity.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Be willing to fly in their AOC to maintain recency.
- Be an active member of the UK CHC Management Team and support other UK departments and functions as required.
- Considerable aviation management experience, including time in the helicopter sector.
- Effective leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and drive a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of local aviation legislation and standards.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs.
- Satisfactory record in conduct or management of air operations.
- Satisfactory record in conduct or management of training and checking in relation to air operations.
- Experience in setting up training systems/methodologies and procedures.
- Experience with project-orientated working methods.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent collaborative problem-solving skills, with the ability to envision a system-wide solution.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to conduct research in course development and delivery concepts.
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve and maintain pre-determined service levels.
- Meet the requirements for UKCAA Crew Training post holder.
- Must be IOGP compliant for Captain O&G operations.
- Have a UK ATPL (H) with IR.
- Significant trainer experience.
- Valid type rating on a CHC UK aircraft type (preferred).
- Valid TRE/SFE or TRI/SFI on CHC UK aircraft type (preferred).
- Able to manage self and perform assigned duties in stressful and critical situations.
- Interpersonal and collaborative approach in delivering customer and company requirements.
- Accountability for set goals and deliverables.
- An effective leader and mentor who can drive a high-performing team.
- Able to handle themselves and perform their assigned duties in stressful and critical situations.
- Ability to work in a rapidly evolving and dynamic team environment.
