Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team at Fawkes & Reece (North) based in Leyland, Lancashire.

This exciting senior commercial role will require the successful candidate to lead on cost management and contract administration for various projects across the North West of England.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor on Civil Engineering Highways projects, with a strong knowledge of NEC Contracts.

About the Role
  • Cost Management:
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects;
    • Monitor project expenditures and analyse variances;
    • Implement cost-saving measures to achieve project cash flow forecasts;
  • Contract Administration:
    • Manage contract documents, including bills of quantities and scopes of work;
    • Oversight of contract negotiations and review of terms;
    • Handling contractual disputes, claims, and variations;
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Respond promptly to client requests, effectively and professionally;
    • Bilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors;
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Mentor junior quantity surveyors and provide guidance and training;
    • Foster a collaborative environment to enhance team performance and development;
Requirements
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent;
  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor on Civil Engineering Highways projects;
  • Strong knowledge of NEC Contracts;
  • Full UK right to work;
  • UK Drivers license;
What We Offer
  • Base salary: £55,000 - £60,000 p/a (dependent on experience);
  • Car Allowance: £6000 p/a;
