About the Role

As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker in Dagenham, you will be joining a leading charity that places the service user at the heart of everything they do. The organisation is focused on supporting vulnerable people in the community, primarily those whose lives have been held back by social deprivation.

Your Key Responsibilities

To deliver excellent drug and alcohol services to service users with alcohol addiction, including family members, friends, and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes. You will focus on delivering and developing group/pod work programmes, such as Foundations of Recovery, working with other programme facilitators and professionals within your project to design and deliver groups/pods using evidence-based practice. You will also manage a case load and coordinate and deliver assessment and evidence-based interventions, recovery planning, and aftercare planning. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to all clients' policies and safeguarding principles. You will deliver harm reduction advice, guidance, and education, including delivery programme, brief and extended recovery interventions, blood-borne virus intervention, overdose prevention, including naloxone programmes.

What You'll Need to Succeed

You must have experience working with complex clients that have substance misuse addictions. You must be available within a week's notice. You must have a Hays DBS or an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. If you require a new Enhanced DBS, Hays will process it.
