About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Regulatory Reporting Accountant to join our team at Société Générale Assurances. As a Trainee Regulatory Reporting Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the production and review of daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting to regulatory bodies, including the Bank of England, Prudential Regulatory Authority, and Société Générale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of quarterly/monthly reporting, including COREP, Large Exposures, LCR, and NSFR, Leverage Ratio, and Credit Risk.
  • Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual Bank of England statistical reporting, including BT, ELS, GT, AD, AL, BE, CC, CL, FI, FO, PL, and C1.
  • Liaise with Banking Operations and Treasury to ensure accurate recording and coding of data for Financial Control.
  • Produce Daily Monitoring (Large Exposures & LCR), analysis, and commentary.
  • Provide cover across regulatory returns when staff are absent or working on projects.
  • Ensure all necessary control checks are performed.
  • Assist in reconciliations to independent sources to control accuracy of reporting.
Requirements
  • Experience in an office or corporate environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate quick learning and adaptability.
  • Strong financial calculations and analytical skills.
  • Experience with large data sets for analytical purposes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Degree-level education or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Part-qualified or working towards a Professional Qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Accounting qualification/experience.
  • English as the main language.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent systems skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and web-based applications.
  • High degree of numeracy skills.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Flexible approach and adaptability to work.
  • Time management with high accuracy.
  • Confident dealing with people from various levels of seniority.
  • Understanding of double-entry accounting or basic accounting understanding.
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting standards and industry reporting requirements.
