About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Roofing Systems Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Mitchell Maguire. As a key member of our construction recruitment consultancy, you will be responsible for providing expert quantity surveying services to our clients in the roofing sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quantity Surveying: You will be responsible for dealing with various roofing systems, including bitumen membrane systems, single ply systems, hot melt waterproofing, cold applied liquid systems, insulation, green roofs, roof slating, roof tiling, and leadwork.
  • Site Progress Management: You will need to keep up to date with site progress, record progress made, and transfer information onto monthly payment applications.
  • Contract Updates: You will be responsible for updating any changes to the agreed contract scope.
  • Financial Management: You will need to keep track of monthly application figures and ensure relevant departments are aware of potential budget or financial constraints.
  • Labour Scheduling: You will review labour schedules and compare to actual progress on site.
  • Pricing Variations: You will price variations and changes in line with subcontractor parameters.
  • Project Drawings: You will review project drawings, compare construction drawings to tender drawings, and document any changes.
  • Client Relationships: You will develop and foster working relationships with clients, client reps, and suppliers.
Requirements
  • Experience: You must have 3 years of quantity surveying experience within the UK roofing market sector.
  • Subcontract Knowledge: You must have an in-depth understanding of subcontracts and schedule of rates (SOR's).
  • Driving License: You must hold a full UK driving license.
  • Technical Drawing: You must have a good understanding of technical drawings.
  • Education: Ideally, you will have a quantity surveying degree.
  • CSCS Card: Ideally, you will have a CSCS card, however, it is not essential.
  • Organisation: You must have high levels of organisation.
  • Teamwork: You must be enthusiastic, a team player, who works well individually also.
