About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Spinner Medical Recruitment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team and working with children and families who are experiencing mental health issues.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Perth, Western Australia offers support, advice and treatment to young people and their families who are experiencing mental health issues.

The service provides recovery-focused programs, and services for children from birth up until a person turns 18 years old. CAMHS has the following 3 key program areas:

Program Areas
  • Acute CAMHS
  • Community CAMHS
  • Specialised CAMHS services

The successful candidate will be responsible for working in one of these 3 settings and will be expected to provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team
  • Work with children and families who are experiencing mental health issues
  • Develop and implement recovery-focused programs
  • Provide individual therapy and family systems interventions
  • Contribute to quality improvement processes and the maintenance of professional standards
  • Supervise undergraduate medical and other related professionals

Requirements

  • FRANZCP or equivalent qualifications gained in either NZ, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa
  • Expertise in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry in the field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Experience in providing clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective, interpersonal and communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Knowledge and expertise in undertaking individual therapy and family systems interventions
  • Interests and involvement in quality improvement processes and in the maintenance of professional standards
  • Experience in education, training and supervision of undergraduate medical and other related professionals
