Aerospace and Defence Systems Engineer Job Description

Join our team at BAE Systems in Warton, Lancashire as an Aerospace and Defence Systems Engineer.

The successful candidate will take a leading role interfacing with our customers, understanding their requirements and keeping them involved during product development.

As a key member of our Engineering Integration Team, you will be responsible for managing complex engineering projects through all stages in their lifecycle, from concept to delivery.

You will work closely with other Engineering Leads to propose, develop and deliver engineering products and solutions that meet expected standards and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customers to understand their requirements and keep them involved during product development.
  • Manage complex engineering projects through all stages in their lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
  • Work closely with other Engineering Leads to propose, develop and deliver engineering products and solutions.
  • Lead a team and senior stakeholders, and have the confidence to influence a diverse and highly skilled community of engineers.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC with sound experience of the Engineering Lifecycle.
  • Evidence based experience in an engineering integration environment.
  • Experience of Model Based Engineering approaches and the supporting methods and toolsets (Teamcenter PLM, DOORs, CAMEO, MATLAB, ANSYS).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Good communication skills across all levels of an organisation.
  • Self-starter and pro-active but with the ability to work effectively in a team.

Salary: £47,683 to £52,426 per annum.
