Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Reablement Support Assistant to join our team at Bristol City Council. As a Reablement Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals regain their independence and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Reablement support to individuals in their homes or community settings, helping them to become more independent.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care and meal preparation, as outlined in individual care plans.
  • Support individuals in maintaining good nutrition, home safety, and energy efficiency.
  • Administer medication as required and in accordance with care plans.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to provide support to vulnerable individuals.

Requirements

  • Either a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Care or equivalent qualification, or a willingness to undertake this training.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, equivalent to GCSE grade C/grade 4 or above.
  • Ability to interpret and follow information on health and care documentation.
  • Self-reliant individual who can work effectively as part of a team and without direct supervision.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and ability to cope with emergencies.
  • Sensitive and flexible approach to the role, respecting individuals' rights, choices, privacy, and dignity.
