Senior Development Manager Public Spaces (12 Month FTC)

Join our team as a Senior Development Manager Public Spaces and contribute to the successful delivery of a comprehensive public realm improvement programme across our London Estate, encompassing Mayfair and Belgravia.

This ambitious endeavour aims to elevate the quality of our public spaces, reflecting Grosvenor's overarching purpose of delivering lasting commercial, social, and environmental benefits.

We strive to create inspiring communities and lead the way in addressing climate change, while fostering vibrant, exciting, and beautiful places to live, work, and visit.

  • Key Accountabilities
    • Drive forward the Public Spaces Strategy programme as developed with the Head of Public Spaces, incorporating hard and soft landscaping, temporary, and permanent interventions.
    • Lead on specific projects and tasks, collaborating closely with London Estate Asset Managers and other internal teams.
    • Work with external consultants and advisors to manage project delivery and initiatives.
    • Achieve necessary approvals, including planning permission, highways approvals, and licensing.
    • Effectively manage cost and risk.
    • Provide performance reporting and post-project reviews.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impact
    • Support and deliver effective stakeholder and public engagement or consultation to ensure Public Spaces projects align with Grosvenor's Community Charter, Positive Space, and contribute to the company's social impact and sustainability goals.
  • Partnership Participation
    • Collaborate with neighbouring landowners, BIDs, and Amenity Groups on projects and initiatives that support Grosvenor's public realm strategy.
  • Environmental Sustainability
    • Ensure all projects exceed GPUK's 2030/2050 environmental performance targets.
    • Support Asset Managers in creating and executing green infrastructure initiatives for their respective Districts via the Public Spaces Strategy, aligned with Districts' Biodiversity Net Gain targets.
  • Funding and Budgets
    • Prepare financial appraisals to support internal approval processes and gateways for Public Spaces expenditure.
    • Work with delivery partners and consultants to obtain value for money through funded projects.
    • Pursue partnership funding from the Local Authority, private sector partners, and other sources where possible.
  • Westminster City Council Collaboration
    • Engage closely with Westminster City Council officers, Councillors, and their delivery partners to facilitate project progress and timely execution.
    • Promote a partnership working ethos with the Local Authority.
    • Collaborate with lawyers to develop S278 agreements with the Local Authority.
    • Develop financial appraisal capability, with Yardi software preferred.
    • Cultivate creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for entrepreneurial approaches in fast-paced environments.
    • Demonstrate clear and positive communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with flexibility, empathy, and influence.
    • Demonstrate personal qualities, including financial awareness, creativity, diplomacy, and the ability to listen, learn, communicate, and influence effectively.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
