Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arboricultural Consultant to lead our arboriculture team in Essex County Council. As a specialist in tree management, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to clients across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of arboricultural services, including commercial and operational delivery of tree assessments, surveys, and management works.
  • Analyse and present complex data, evidence, and advice to recognised standards, reviewing outcomes and assessing third-party compliance.
  • Develop and review complex plans, policies, and guidance related to arboriculture.
  • Manage high-value projects and contracts against budget, specification, and indicators.
  • Buid high-level client relationships, maintaining commercial awareness of the industry, key markets, and sectors.

Requirements

  • Qualified Professional Tree Inspector with strong evidence of continuous professional development and membership of relevant professional bodies.
  • Authoritative technical and subject matter expert in development management and planning policy, legislation, and enforcement standards and guidance.
  • Effective people management skills with experience of employee performance and development.
  • Strong understanding of wellbeing and H&S, with ability to identify and implement safe working practices.
  • Able to lead specialist and multi-disciplinary project teams and manage multiple, large-scale, and complex projects from concept through to completion.
