About the Role

MTrec Recruitment is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our client's team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of the business development team, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing the bid team to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Tendering Process Management: Ensure timely visibility of all opportunities, lead on, write, and project manage bids and proposals from beginning to end. Identify, bid for, and maintain position on appropriate sector frameworks.
  • Bid/No Bid Process Management: Management of and key contributor to the bid/no bid process and decision-making.
  • Bid Team Management: Management and oversight of the bid team during the bid process, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Strategy Development: Develop a successful strategy for winning a bid, including pinpointing unique selling points, understanding customers' specific requirements, and coaching on presentations.
  • Quality Control: Responsible for the quality of all aspects of the bid, including written documentation and presentation material.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate all parties involved in the bid process to ensure everyone is aware of the level of contribution expected and deadlines.
  • Research and Writing: Research, write, and prepare pre-qualification and tender documents to ensure timely delivery.
  • Submission and Review: Ensure that bids are submitted on time and are as complete and accurate as possible, while also best reflecting the company's services and abilities.
  • Communication: Write high-quality text, ensuring consistency of responses in terms of quality, key phrases, and key words. All bid documentation must be clear, concise, and compelling.
  • Design and Visuals: Work with the Marketing Department to source and coordinate design input to ensure the visual standard of all documentation and presentation material is engaging.
  • Contract Review: Assist with the review of contract performance by collating data from the system, as well as customer feedback forms and performance review meetings.
  • Knowledge Management: Prepare and upkeep high-quality responses to be used as reference in future.
  • Team Communication: Keep the team up to date with relevant tender actions and milestones.
  • Company Values: Abide by the company's core values and code of ethics.
About You
  • Experience: Bid co-ordination/tender experience is essential.
  • Education: Degree educated is preferable but not essential.
  • Skills: Experienced in bid writing, working knowledge of commercial tendering processes, high levels of attention to detail, customer relationship focused, and great commercial awareness.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to effectively prioritize a busy workload, meet project deadlines, and demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation.
  • Teamwork: Able to work closely with other team members, influence and persuade others, and maintain a UK driving license.
