About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sexual Violence Advisor to join our team at Victim Support. As an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, you will provide ongoing continuity, advocacy, and impartial advice and information to all survivors accessing our service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments and assess the specific needs of people who have suffered sexual violence.
  • Develop individual service plans that address these risks and needs.
  • Provide non-therapeutic support to victims/survivors, delivered face-to-face or via telephone, text, and/or email.
  • Build links with services across West Yorkshire to ensure wrap-around support is available.
  • Attend relevant meetings and provide regular reports to your line manager.
  • Undertake talks and presentations to local groups and agencies on the work of Victim Support, developing networks and partnerships and increasing the role of the service in the community.
  • Communicate effectively with people from all areas of the community and assist with the monitoring, evaluation, and administration of written statistical reports on the project management for our external funders.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with high and complex cases.
  • Proven track record of working with vulnerable clients and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work in a trauma-informed manner and offer support with trauma as a priority.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a high caseload.
