Senior Palliative Care Nurse

Jarrodean Healthcare Recruitment is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our client's Hospice in Hastingwood, Essex.
This is a full-time position, but we are open to discussing part-time hours opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day running of the Inpatient Unit, including management duties, audit, research, and education.
The shifts are on a 24/7 rota, with either 7:30 - 8:00 or 19:30 - 20:00 hours. Due to the location, the successful candidate will need to be a driver.
Our client is a UK Charity with a purpose-built Hospice, rated 'Outstanding' by CQC, which cares for people across West Essex and the East Hertfordshire border.
The Inpatient Unit has eight en-suite rooms and offers a 'home from home' environment, caring for people with life-limiting illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:- Prioritise and delegate work fairly and appropriately according to skill mix within the team.
- Act as a role model at all times and contribute to the provision of high quality, specialist nursing care.
- Actively contribute to MDT decision making about admissions and discharges.
- Provide effective managerial and clinical leadership of IPU staff in conjunction with or in the absence of the IPU Manager.
- Supervise and mentor junior Nurses and Care Assistants, ensuring that high standards of care are delivered.
- Support patients, families, and significant others.
- Registered Nurse with full UK NMC registration.
- At least two years post-registration experience including at least some exposure to palliative care patients.
- Good organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an emotionally demanding environment.
