Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic

to join our exceptional team at our DAF Trucks Depot.

Who we are looking for in a Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic:

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience as a Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic or in a related field such as Commercial Vehicles, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, or Automotive sectors.

A qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred.
Alternatively, a time-served Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic is acceptable.
Capability to engage in breakdown assistance.
Proficiency in adhering to company protocols for completing all necessary documentation, including accurate job cards and service records.
A general level of computer literacy is beneficial.
A valid UK driving license is required.
The responsibilities of the Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic include

(but are not limited to):

Conducting servicing and maintenance on a diverse range of trucks and vehicles. Performing fault diagnostics. Preparing vehicles for MOT. Executing mechanical and electrical repairs. Ensuring that repairs are conducted in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and in a safe, responsible manner. Conducting road tests when necessary, subject to licensing restrictions. Participating in any technical or development training provided.

Working hours:

Week 1:
Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm.

Week 2:
Monday to Friday 1:30pm to 10pm.
