HGV Technician - Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

Ford and Slater, a leading Commercial Vehicle Dealer Group, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their team at their Truck Depot in a Strategic Location.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to work Night Shifts, Monday to Thursday, 21:30-06:00, and Friday, 18:00-01:30. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for Servicing and Maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles, including Fault Diagnostics, MOT Preparation, and Mechanical and Electrical Repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Servicing and Maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles
  • Fault Diagnostics
  • MOT Preparation
  • Mechanical and Electrical Repairs
  • Ensuring Repairs are Carried Out according to Manufacturers Procedures and in a Safe and Responsible Manner
  • Road Testing Vehicles when required, subject to Licence Restrictions
  • Attending Technical or Development Training as made available
Requirements
  • Previous Experience working as an HGV Technician/Mechanic within the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car or an associated sector
  • Ideal Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served HGV Technician
  • Ability to Participate in Breakdowns
  • Skills to Follow Company Processes for completing all Paperwork, including accurate completion of Job Cards and Service Records
  • General Level of Computer Literacy is advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence
