About the Role

Premier Underwriting Limited is a leading motor underwriting agency that manages a significant portfolio of insurance premiums. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with FCA regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the group's compliance with FCA regulatory requirements and implement our FCA compliance and risk management framework.
  • Identify, analyze, and explain regulatory topics and themes, and advise the business on key developments and their impact on the group.
  • Act as the final escalation point for customer complaints, liaising with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) as required.
  • Manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision, with confidence to effectively plan, set priorities, and manage workload.
  • Drive, curiosity, and determination to improve FCA compliance across the business via all its associated touchpoints, coupled with the personal gravitas required to establish credibility with colleagues and customers.
Requirements
  • Several years' experience in an FCA-regulated insurance/financial services environment or an audit-type role where a full appreciation of compliance has been acquired.
  • Good understanding of FCA requirements and the Regulatory Compliance regime as it applies.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working within an FCA Compliance role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK regulatory framework within the financial services, and particularly the insurance sector.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance business needs with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in designing and delivering FCA Compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting compliance and risk gap analysis, and successfully addressing any identified issues.
  • Some project management experience will also be beneficial.
  • Ability to work away from the office, including overnight stays, to complete technical audit and compliance functions from time to time.
What We Offer
  • Full-time position with a competitive salary from £65,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
