Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and delivering a comprehensive curriculum for students, focusing on Biology at the A Level. This will involve developing and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall academic success of the school.

Key Areas of Focus
  • Curriculum Development: Design and deliver a curriculum that meets the needs of students, aligning with National Curriculum requirements and school policies.
  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, promoting student engagement and academic achievement.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Develop and implement effective assessment strategies, providing constructive feedback to students to support their progress.
  • Staff Development: Contribute to the professional development of colleagues, sharing best practices and expertise to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree in Biology or a related field.
  • Experience: Possess successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school.
  • Skills: Demonstrate a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
