**Principal Ecologist Role Overview**
We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced ecologist to join our team in Fenland. As a principal ecologist, you will be responsible for leading initiatives that enhance biodiversity and natural capital in the region.
**Salary and Benefits:**
The salary for this role is £65 per hour PAYE, making it a highly competitive offer. You will also have access to a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Providing expert advice on the ecological aspects of planning applications.
- Supporting the Council's response to the Environment Act.
- Collaborating on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Representing the Council in public inquiries and planning committees.
- Working with partners to promote sustainable land-use practices.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- A relevant degree in Ecology or equivalent experience.
- Proven knowledge of biodiversity net gain and green infrastructure planning.
- At least three years of post-graduate experience in a relevant role.
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU wildlife legislation.
- Membership in CIEEM (or equivalent qualifications/experience).
