Process Control Engineer Opportunity

Global Leading Organisation

We are seeking an experienced Process Controls Engineer to join our client, a world-class global leading organisation, on an interim basis for an initial 12-month contract (with likely extension). The successful candidate will oversee the continued maintenance and upgrade of existing control systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain the upkeep of process control systems and applications.
  2. Ensure data backup and integrity.
  3. Collaborate with Process Improvement and Process Engineering teams to develop and program control sequences.
  4. Utilize industry standards for programming of DCS, ESD, and SCADA HMI packages.
  5. Analyse and resolve users' requirements and/or equipment-related process control queries.
  6. Develop and update standards for new/modified control system architecture.
  7. Implement change management practices when altering the control system.
  8. Stay up-to-date with technology development and its application, including Advanced Process Control.
  9. Provide recommendations for infrastructure improvement.
  10. Support operational implementation of process control and infrastructure modifications and upgrades.
Requirements:
  1. HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical/Controls (EC&I) or similar.
  2. Proven experience in Process Control and Safety Shutdown hardware, software, and configuration.
  3. Essential experience with Emerson DeltaV.
  4. ABB System6 experience is advantageous.
  5. Experience in continuous manufacturing process environments, preferably in a top-tier COMAH site.
  6. Demonstrated ability to understand fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving techniques using Process Control systems and Data Historian.
  7. Experience in communication systems such as OPC, Modbus, and ethernet networking is advantageous.
