Newcastle University is a world-renowned institution offering an exciting opportunity for a Biotechnology Research Specialist. This full-time, fixed-term position is available on a competitive salary of £30,505 - £34,132 per annum, with progression to £31,387.

As a key member of the Biosciences Institute's technical community, you will be responsible for the day-to-day progress of sample curation and processing. You will perform a range of molecular biological techniques, including cell culture, RNA, DNA, and protein extraction and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project supervisors to ensure seamless sample processing and data integration into project-related databases.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and compliant working environment through local procedures.
  • Hold delegated responsibility for laboratory space planning, operation, and supervision.
  • Contribute to specialism development, delivery, and planning, as well as managing budgets and resource usage.
  • Provide research support, lead method development, and assist with training and induction programs.
