Development Surveyor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Development Surveyor to join our team in Oxford, working closely with our Planning and Development South team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for providing expert consultancy and agency advice on residential and mixed-use development land to our public and private sector clients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide valuation advice on land and property assets, including financial appraisals of development sites
  • Utilize Argus Developer for development appraisals and valuation purposes
  • Conduct options appraisals to identify development viability
  • Offer development consultancy advice to clients
  • Undertake comparable and market research to inform development strategies
  • Advise on planning and development strategies, including formal reports and assessment of alternative land use values
  • Support with strategic advice on delivery structures, development agreements, and joint ventures
  • Manage residential development land agency instructions
  • Prepare marketing campaigns, including brochures and information packs, and set up data rooms
  • Negotiate and structure Heads of Terms for transactions
  • Mentor graduates within the division/office
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will be an RICS chartered surveyor and registered valuer with post-qualification experience in development consultancy and agency. You will have a strong understanding of development appraisals, advisory, and disposal work, as well as the ability to provide written option assessments and transactional advice. Proficiency in Argus Developer (or equivalent) is also essential.

You will be an excellent team player with strong communication skills, able to develop client relationships and support colleagues internally. A full driving license is required for this role, as regular travel to sites is expected.
