As a Pastoral and Learning Support specialist, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide a vital service within the community. You will identify the needs and risks of students with special educational needs (SEN) and provide support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
Some students may have experienced adverse childhood experiences, and you will play a crucial role in helping them to feel safe, secure, and empowered. You will work with students who face barriers in life, such as marginalisation, disadvantage, trauma, and stigmatisation, and provide them with the tools and support they need to succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology, Sociology, or Criminology graduate to gain practical experience working with vulnerable students and develop their skills in outreach and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral support to students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to identify student needs and risks
- Develop and implement support plans to help students overcome challenges
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive
