Mental Health Support Worker

This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are at-risk. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide a vital service within the community.
You will be responsible for identifying the risks and needs of students with special educational needs (SEN), and escalating where necessary. Your role will involve providing consistency and equipping children and young people with the tools they need to feel safe, secure, and empowered.
This is an ideal role for graduates in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology, as it will give you excellent practical experience working with vulnerable, hard-to-reach students. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students with special educational needs
- Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Identify and escalate risks and needs of students, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Provide consistency and stability for students, helping them to feel secure and empowered
Requirements:
- GCSE in English and Maths
- Ability to build confidence and motivation in students
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential
What We Offer:
- Excellent on-site training and support to ensure safeguarding of all students
- Competitive daily rate of £80-£85
- Term-time only, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30
