Summary

Lidl - Southampton is seeking a highly skilled Acquisitions Consultant to join our dynamic Property department in Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the expansion and management of our current portfolio, driving the full development and planning processes from concept to completion. You will work closely with our Regional Head of Property and other members of the Property Team to identify, negotiate, and acquire freehold and leasehold deals to build new stores. Your exceptional communication and negotiation skills, combined with your ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines, will be crucial in this role. You will also be responsible for undertaking site inspections, development appraisals, and managing site, legal, and planning due diligence on all opportunities. Additionally, you will assist with expansion, relocation, and improvement projects to our current infrastructure, developing and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants, and developers. Key Responsibilities

1. Identify, negotiate, and acquire freehold and leasehold deals to build new stores with support from the Regional Head of Property or Senior Acquisitions Consultant.
2. Undertake site inspections, development appraisals, manage site, legal, and planning due diligence on all opportunities with support from the Regional Head of Property or Senior Acquisitions Consultant.
3. Manage planning applications from original submission through to consent and discharge of conditions with support from the Property Team.
4. Assist with expansion, relocation, and improvement projects to our current infrastructure.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants, and developers.
6. Drive the full development and planning process from initial concept to final completion with regular support from the Regional Head of Property.
7. Real estate management of our freehold and leasehold assets.

1. Degree-level educated or comparable qualification (2:2 minimum) ideally in a relevant discipline.
2. Ideally, working towards or recently qualified MRICS preferably with experience in acquisitions and planning.
3. Experience working in retail acquisitions is preferable.
4. Strong negotiating skills.
5. Sound commercial acumen.
6. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
7. A highly analytical mind.
8. The ability to multi-task and handle conflicting deadlines.
9. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
10. A full driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout the UK.
