Job Description

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join their team as a Dispensary Services Team Leader. This role offers an exciting opportunity for self-motivated individuals to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality medicines management services.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of £38,514 - £46,068 per annum, reflecting the importance of this role in delivering high-quality services.

Job Requirements

  • BTEC level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • BTEC Level 4 in dispensing accuracy checking or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • NVQ A1 workplace assessor or willingness to work towards


Main Responsibilities

The Team Leader will oversee the day-to-day management of the dispensary at Hollins Park Hospital, ensuring that services meet quality and activity targets.

This includes managing the workload, supervising staff, organizing rotas, and ensuring a safe and effective service delivery in accordance with current legislation and guidance.

The Team Leader will also hold HR management responsibilities and contribute to the development of knowledge and skills within the team.

  • Proven leadership and organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of dispensary services and medicines management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable individual with a customer-focused approach
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance relating to dispensary services
  • Experience of staff management and budget control
  • Demonstrable evidence of commitment to self-development and CPD
