About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Risk Engineer to join our gas construction team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and developing project risk profiles, and ensuring the development of the risk strategy and methodology.

You will work closely with project teams to establish project scope and identify gaps in available information essential for project cost estimation and risk. Your expertise will be crucial in challenging available detail, obtaining relevant missing information, and developing assumptions, tracking progress, and managing relevant governance reviews and sign-offs.

This role will report directly to the Senior Risk Engineer and will involve undertaking risk workshops for gas projects, updating processes and procedures for risk, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office working in Warwick and home working. You will need to be able to travel into the Warwick office approximately 2-3 times a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop project risk profiles
  • Develop and implement risk strategy and methodology
  • Work with project teams to establish project scope and identify gaps in available information
  • Challenge available detail and obtain relevant missing information
  • Develop assumptions, track progress, and manage relevant governance reviews and sign-offs
  • Undertake risk workshops for gas projects
  • Update processes and procedures for risk
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Risk experience (ideally in the utilities industry)
  • Ability to interpret technical and cost information
  • Previous experience in running workshops
  • Understanding of engineering terms
  • Sound analytical and technical data skills
  • Construction experience and knowledge
  • Full UK car driving licence
