About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join our RNA Therapeutics team at GlaxoSmithKline. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for driving the development of machine learning solutions to accelerate the discovery and development of novel RNA therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of machine learning engineers to develop and implement cutting-edge machine learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and best practices for machine learning engineering.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI.
Requirements
  • PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Advanced Python programming skills and experience with deep learning algorithms.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical lead or engineering manager role.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional software development practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with large ML-powered systems in a production setting.
  • Knowledge in molecular biology, disease biology, and/or biochemistry.
  • Peer-reviewed publications in major AI conferences.
