Gas Market Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Market Analyst to join our team at Gazprom Energy. As a key member of our Shipping team, you will be responsible for monitoring the Asian market from fundamental and macro perspectives, sharing insights with stakeholders, and analyzing market trends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the Asian market, focusing on Chinese production, demand, switching, and imports, against the wider backdrop of JKTC markets.
  • Translate overall NEA and broader Asian market fundamental analysis into commercial views, generate trading ideas, and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends of LNG mid- and long-term, considering global demand and supply balance.
  • Develop longer-term views on likely market trends, assisting the business with contract renegotiations and origination deals when required.
  • Develop views to assist regional LNG price views, including the cost of chartering, and stay on top of latest LNG shipping movements, performing competitor analysis, and communicating trends.
Requirements:
  • Develop and maintain supply and demand models to forecast global LNG balances in East and South Asia, focusing on China and NEA.
  • Study all drivers, building tools that impact the price of gas, including alternative fuels.
  • Share insights on wider gas and relevant commodity markets, understanding their impacts on our views and positions.
